Who we are
Our Moment ("the app," "we," "us") is an app for couples, available on the Apple App Store. If you have questions about this policy, email [email protected].
What the app stores, and where
To work, the app keeps the things you create in it:
- The names you enter for yourself and your partner
- Your answers to prompts: text, voice messages, photos, videos, and captions
- Replies, reactions, Sweeten It and Suggest It exchanges, rewards, points, and streaks
- Custom prompts and challenges you add
- App settings, such as your color theme and optional background photo
This content is stored on your iPhone and synced between you and your partner through storage your couple controls, such as a home server you set up yourselves. We do not operate servers that receive or store your moments, and we can't see them. A background photo you pick for your theme stays on your phone only.
What we do not collect
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party analytics or tracking tools
- No location data
- No contacts, and no access to your photo library beyond the specific photos and videos you choose to share
- No selling or sharing of personal information with anyone
The app's statistics screens, such as your streak and connection trends, are calculated on your devices.
Camera, microphone, and photos
The app asks for camera and microphone access only so you can record photos, videos, and voice messages for your partner. When you choose an existing photo or video, iOS gives the app only the items you pick.
Face ID
The app uses Face ID (or your device passcode) to lock the app and private Spice content. Face ID is handled entirely by iOS. The app only learns whether you were verified. It never receives your face data.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app shows a badge number when something is waiting for you. Notifications never include the content of a moment. They are delivered through Apple's Push Notification service.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. Apple lets the app know which plan is active, and the app shares that plan status with your partner's copy of the app so one purchase covers you both. Apple's handling of payment information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
When you email us
If you contact support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your content stays until you delete it. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your phone. Content stored in your couple's own storage, such as a home server, can be deleted there at any time. We don't hold copies we could delete for you, but we're happy to help. Email [email protected].
Age
Our Moment is intended for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
Private content is protected by Face ID or your passcode, and connections between the app and your couple's storage are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your phone's passcode private and your devices up to date.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information about you. Because we don't collect your content on our own servers, most of these requests can be handled directly in the app or in your own storage. For anything else, email [email protected].
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
